© 2026 Urban Games / Paradox InteractiveTransport Fever 3 Buses: All 25 Buses With Stats
The complete Transport Fever 3 bus list: availability years, power, top speed, weight, capacity and load speed from the official Wiki. Checked October 10, 2026.
Buses are the cheapest way to put a passenger line on the road in Transport Fever 3, and they are currently the only vehicle category the official Wiki documents with a full stats table. All 25 buses are listed below with availability years, power, top speed, weight, capacity and load speed, transcribed from the official Wiki's vehicle manual and re-verified against the live page on October 10, 2026.
A scope note before the table: Transport Fever 3 ships with more than 300 vehicles across rail, road, trams, ships and aircraft, but the official Wiki has so far published row-level stats only for the bus category. Treat this page as the verified core of the road-passenger fleet, not the whole roster.

How to pick between two buses
Capacity and load speed decide line economics more than top speed on town routes. A bus that loads passengers faster spends less time at each stop, which matters once a line serves four or five stops in a city core; top speed mostly matters on intercity shuttles where the run between stops is long. Availability years are the other filter — early-era maps lock you out of the modern entries at the bottom of the table, so a "best bus" answer that ignores your start year is wrong by definition.
If you are choosing between a bus line and a tram line for the same corridor, the honest answer is that the official Wiki does not yet publish tram stats to compare against — that comparison opens up once the remaining vehicle tables are documented. What is already verifiable: buses run on ordinary roads (no track investment), which is why they are the standard first passenger service.
Stop placement: the part that actually breaks bus lines
Player consensus this month converges on one rule: keep stops off the main road. A bus paused at a stop on a single-carriageway main road blocks every vehicle behind it, and early-game maps are full of exactly those roads (creator demonstration plus player reports, October 2026 — evidence note below). The companion mistakes are placing both directions of a stop on the same curb and under-provisioning the road before densifying a line. Our tips page collects the station-sizing and one-way patterns that pair with this.
FAQ
What is the best bus in Transport Fever 3?
There is no single best: the table above sorts by era, not rank. In practical terms, take the highest-capacity bus your availability window allows for busy town circuits, and prefer higher load speed for short-hop lines with many stops. If two buses tie on capacity, the cheaper running cost wins — the Wiki table records capacity and speed, and in-game running costs fill the last column of the decision.
Are buses better than trams in Transport Fever 3?
Buses need no track, so they are strictly the cheaper first line; trams carry more per vehicle on corridors you expect to keep for the whole game. Because the official Wiki has not published tram stats yet, a numbers-based comparison is not possible today — this page will link one as soon as the data exists.
Why is my bus not picking up passengers?
Check three things in order: the stop is connected to a destination that wants passengers, the line actually includes both stops, and the stop is not placed where traffic jams prevent buses from reaching it. Stop placement on main roads is the most common cause — see the section above.
